Well, let me enlighten you about these majestic beasts called lions. Lions are recognized by their distinctively royal manes, which are the male lion’s most notable feature. Male lions have this mane that tends to darken as they grow older. They are the only cats that are truly social, living in a group called a pride, made up mainly of female lions and their cubs. Besides, the resonating roar of a lion can be heard up to 8 km away! The adult males are considerably larger than the females and they can grow between 8.2 and 9.8 feet from their noses to the ends of their tails. Unfortunately, their average lifespan is only 10-14 years in the wild.
